DJ McVibes, also known as Ian McTague, has had a dynamic and evolving journey in the music industry, rooted in a long-standing family tradition of music. He began his musical path at the age of 13, initially learning to play the drums. His passion for rhythm and music grew as he participated in high school marching bands and drumlines. After attending tech college, McVibes joined several bands, but when those opportunities did not materialize as expected, he turned his focus to DJing.

 

McVibes pursued formal training at the DJ Scratch Academy in Philadelphia, where he honed his DJing skills. This training led to a position at a production and entertainment company, where he gained valuable experience in the intricacies of wedding and event DJing. With this newfound expertise and confidence, he transitioned into freelance DJing, performing at numerous weddings and events, and continuing to expand his portfolio.

 

Committed to further professional growth, McVibes continued his education by taking additional courses to master advanced DJ techniques such as scratching and live mashups. He also delved into music production, broadening his creative capabilities. Today, DJ McVibes operates his own successful DJ business while collaborating with various DJ companies, offering a diverse range of services and continuing to build his reputation as a skilled DJ and music producer. His journey reflects a blend of passion, dedication, and an ongoing commitment to mastering his craft.
